Getting Started With Amazon Associates Affiliate Marketing - Rick & Stephanie Moore

Getting Started With Amazon Associates Affiliate Marketing

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing happens when you earn a commission by promoting someone else’s products.

You find products that you like and then promote them to others, and then you get paid a small percentage for each resulting sale.

Amazon’s Associates Program is good place to start. It allows you to choose from over a million products to advertise to your customers online.

This is an excellent opportunity if you already have a large network or if you are a blogger who is looking to build a following.

Amazon’s Associate Program offers linking tools that will help you monetize your website or your YouTube Channel.

Here’ s what is even cooler:

When people land on Amazon as a result of clicking your affiliate link, you’ll get affiliate commissions for that item AND anything else they put in their cart within the next 24 hour time period.

Commissions are as much as 10% and will vary by the category of merchandise.

To register, visit the Amazon Associates affiliate marketing page.

Here Are The 4 Steps:

1. You will need to have an existing Amazon account. If you don’t have an Amazon account, you’ll need to do that first by visiting Amazon.com and creating one!

2. You have to get approval. To get approval from Amazon Associates, you will need to have your website, blog or your YouTube channel set up so that when Amazon reviews it, they can see that you have a legitimate online presence.

It is important that you take the time to fill out the registration form. Keep in mind that Amazon’s affiliate program is intended for websites and blogs, but they have been approving people who have YouTube channels.

If you are just starting out, it may take a little time to get your blog and YouTube channel set up.

It is worth it because having the ability to generate affiliate income is a great way to create multiple online income streams.

If you don’t have either a blog or YouTube channel yet, we would encourage you to take the time to set these up first before applying for your Amazon affiliate account.

If you are in the process of creating a blog or a new YouTube channel, their questionnaire is good because it asks you questions that will help you define the direction of your online presence.

3. Once you are signed up, you can then create custom affiliate links for any product on the site that you like and want to promote. While it’s not required, we think it is a best practice to promote things that you use and think are great.

4. Next, take a product that you want to promote and create a YouTube video reviewing the product. For example, let’s say that you want to do a video that reviews one of your favorite books. You would go to Amazon and enter the book in the search box.

Once your affiliate account is set up, you’ll be able to look in the upper left corner of the screen where you’ll see your affiliate link for that item.

You’ll then copy and paste it into the description of the video as a resource. Then, when people click the link and purchase the item, you’ll get paid an affiliate commission.

Using this simple process, you’ll be able to create a collection of revenue streams that can pay you for years.

When people use your affiliate links to make purchases on Amazon, they aren't spending any extra money when they use your affiliate link.

Right now, you might be thinking. Will the people I refer to Amazon pay more for the product because I referred them? The answer is no.

When people use your affiliate links to make purchases on Amazon, they aren’t spending any extra money when they use your affiliate link.

It just means that Amazon doesn’t get to keep the proceeds of the entire sale, allowing YOU to capture commissions so that you can justify your time making more videos with more affiliate links.

Are you an entrepreneur who loves learning how you can create additional recurring income online?
